We are working on a unit in language arts in narrative writing.  The details and all the assignment sheets are on the narrative writing page.  I will be updating this page as we go through the unit.  I am constantly adjusting the work in response to the needs of the kids so you will need to check it once in a while.

On Friday I am starting a lesson on the water cycle.  I created a page for the kids to work off of including several sites and the questions I want them to answer about it.  I will also be teaching a short lesson in class as way to help them understand it.  They will need to have this assignment complete for May 25th.   I will start this in class on Friday.  You can always watch the video before hand if you want.  It is what I am going to teach in class.

In your notebook copy down the following questions and answer them.  Remember you need to use handwriting and answer in full sentences.

Narrative Writing unit

Wednesday March 18th

We finished a movie on St. Patrick today.  There is a viewing page for this video to cover our language arts.

Math my class is on Unit 4 Lesson 6.  Volume.  It is a difficult subject so please help your child out using the homework book.

We went to the stations of the cross this afternoon.  What a wonderful presentation.

This is just a reminder that the reflective writing essay is due tomorrow.  I did hand out the assignment sheet on January 23rd so I am hoping we are all done.  There was 4 weeks to complete it.

Thursday February 5

Tiger idol again today.

We are going to have our social studies presentations tomorrow I am looking forward to seeing everyone's hard work.

We are finishing lesson 8 tomorrow we will have our math test after the break.

Today it was a great day for tiger idol! We did lots of great work and I was impressed with all the hard work that the students did.  I sent home a hot lunch order today. I did post up a copy of it on the website as well.

Today we had an excellent opportunity for a French language performance in the gym.

We started a new daily routine called the daily 3 to help us become better readers and writers.

Wednesday January 28

Do you also become frightened when you hear about self-control?

Religion : We learned about self-control and how it is challenging to use self control especially when you are in situations where you are angry or frustrated. Those are the situations that you need to work on it the most.

Art: Students finished up their art projects

Math: We are on Lesson 6 and 7 in Math. We are learning to multiply two digit by two digit numbers in lesson 6. In Lesson 7 we are estimating quotients.

Social Studies : We are working on a small project for social studies on the Canadian Parliament. The students (in groups) are picking out a good question about our government. They are doing some research and then creating a power point to share their information with the rest of the class. I will also be able to count marks in Language Arts for this project in Viewing, Listening and Representing.

Friday January 23rd

We had a great day today.  Miss. Sakowsky stopped by for a visit!!  The kids were so excited!!  We have been working so hard this last couple of weeks I decided that an afternoon of a couple of educational movies would be in order.  Just a couple of reminders.
